Carroll University InterVarsity Promotional Posters
Client Overview
InterVarsity Christian Fellowship is an evangelical campus mission serving on more than 560 college and university campuses nationwide. Being an interdenominational Christian organization, InterVarsity invites anyone regardless of spiritual background to join the community. Ways to participate in this group on the Carroll University campus are by coming to Small Group Bible Studies, joining weekly Large Group for worship, or attending other fun on-campus or virtual events. This group's mission is to “see students and faculty transformed, campuses renewed, and world-changers developed at Carroll University.”
Objective
The design task was to create promotional posters for InterVarsity events and groups being hosted on the Carroll University Campus. A few of these events included Worship Night, Volunteering at Minooka Park, and Succulent Giveaway. Posters designed for groups included weekly Large Group gatherings and Prayer Group. Each poster was created while adhering to the InterVarsity National Brand Book guidelines and sent to staff for approval and suggestions.
Design Solution
The design centrality of these posters (with the exception of a few event posters) revolves around images of members of the InterVarsity chapter. Especially in the midst of the isolation of COVID-19 I wanted to convey the community that is present in this organization. Through my design, it was important to me to portray the real and raw emotions that the members were feeling. In the poster designs that it was not appropriate to include images of the organization, I used stock photos to capture the main idea of the event. Images like the plants or praying hands contrasted with the light/dark background to quickly draw the eye of the viewer.
